01/10 (Mon)
1 week of off day due to the golden week in China, so we headed to the bus terminal at 6plus in the morning as we were taking the 0730 bus. The bus ride was 2hrs after reaching Shanghai we took the so called MRT to get nearer to our hotel. OMG, the MRT was as packed as sardines man! Practically body to body whereby you don’t have to hold on to anything to prevent you from falling, it was damn horrible la. We were about to cab down to our hotel then this guy approached us with the different hotels and we took it despite the hotel we booked. The hotel aka service apartment was good man. It was a room with 2 beds whereby one of the beds was located above the other, it is not really a double deck bed. But the room was cool and cozy and most importantly it comes with a washing machine.
I slept for like 2hrs while the others took 3, we had the intention to meet Ian and all but by the time we woke up they were already at another area. So we just walked around on our own and getting back to our hotel was tough as we needed 2 cabs. Felix, Tian Chuang n I couldn’t find a cab so we just walked to our hotel which took us 30mins la. On our way back we even bought 3 bottles of beer and also supper after we rested awhile in our room.
02/10 (Tues)
Took a bus down to meet Ian and Pei Lin at 陕西路for lunch at this mini fastfood that sells curry, and then they brought us around to shop but the shops prices was too expensive. Then they brought us to 七浦街whereby it has all the wholesale items but they wasn’t much to buy too. 七浦街is near to our hotel so we went back rested for awhile and off we go to meet Sheryl and Terrence at this Rendezvous restaurant that sells Singapore food, was ok only la. We then headed off to新天地, slack at Starbucks for a while and off we go for clubbing. I am really not a clubbing person la, I drank less than 1 glass of Chivas and I think 2 cans of Coke. Left earlier with Tian Chuang and back in the hotel room I was trying to open a bottle of 青岛啤酒without a bottle opener, it was tough man. I took like 30mins to Tian Chuang said I was desperate for beer. Haha. I finished the whole bottle and both of us slept before the remaining 3 came back. They were back ard 2hrs after us which was ard 2plus and I was awaken. Yanni was drunk and Tian Chuang and I were rather noisy when they were back.
Felix fell asleep on our bed and Yanni was drunk at the sofa with Wesley taking care of her. I woke up at I guess 5plus to take blanket from another bed but it was gone. And when I was about to go up stupid Felix shouted. Ya, he shouted in his sleep which was damn funny.
03/10 (Wed)
Tian Chuang and I left earlier to 七浦街to shop without the others, and surprisingly we shopped for 2hrs whereby I spend 500rmb (S$100) on shirt, jacket, shorts, my mum’s top and a dress. When we were back in the hotel Felix was angry because we didn’t wake him up to go along with us. But he was ok after we talked a lot to him.
Yanni and Wesley were out with their own programme, don’t ask me why, so the 3 of us headed to 御苑in search for 小笼包 which was very good la. Walked around the streets and cab back and we rested for awhile and went out for dinner at Mister Donut which was ok la. Slack in the hotel room watching HBO after dinner and went out again ard 2hrs later for supper which was available just outside the hotel. Drank 1.5 bottles of beer, Felix la, ask me to drink his. We even had a mask session for everyone after supper because Tian Chuang bought it at Face Shop.
04/10 (Thurs)
Felix wants to shop so we accompanied him to 七浦街in the morning while Yanni and Wesley had their own programme. 刨冰in Shanghai rocks la, that is something the 3 of us will miss especially Felix. Check out at 1245 and headed to the train station for our trip back to Suzhou. The train ride was only 30 to 45mins la and the stupid driver in Suzhou wanted to cheat our money. He said the ride to Gloria is 80rmb for all of us he then changed to 60rmb. Come on la, we are not tourists we are going to be Suzhou-ers la. The 2 cabs back was like less than 50rmb can, stupid driver, we were smart to not believe him.
We unpacked and slept for 2hrs in our dormitory and headed out for dinner at 观前街 KFC which was ok only la. Went to 网吧again for our usual routine as Suzhou-ers, and out to 可的for mineral water.
05/10 (Fri)
Lunch at 真功夫again, I think真功夫is nice la, Singapore should have it. The slogan is somehow like “健康还蒸得好”and the meal is very filling with rice, meat, vegetable and soup for around 23rmb. Dinner again 观前街eating the 过桥米线.
06/10 (Sat)
Woke up at 7plus to go to the rooftop to check the weather out, decided to wash my clothes and then went back to sleep again and up again at 10plus. Headed out alone without the others in search for hotels for my parents, Yanni called and together with Tian Chuang they came to look for me at 观前街 for lunch. While searching, I went into this 玄妙寺, bought an ice cream and a jacket. Headed for my first ever dine in at Pizza Hut, Wesley joined us later but the 3 person meal was super full la. Went back dorm watch show awhile den sleep again.
Had dinner with the housekeeping department with the 重庆interns together with the 管家，经理and 主管. Drank and eat la, they can really drink a lot of beer. The way they drink beer is like water but I didn’t drink much la, think they bought like 3 boxes of bottled beer la.
07/10 (Sun)
Typhoon strike today at Suzhou but it wasn’t that bad la, just that the wind is strong. Had lunch at this burger shop somewhere near the hotel, and played bridge back at the dorm and sleep again until 6plus. Cab down to this place which is somewhat like Mind Café, ordered spaghetti while the others order steak and we too had free flow of drinks. But don’t know why I wasn’t feeling well and started vomiting all the spaghetti out la. Was feeling better la and we were like playing bridge most of the time and I sat out together with Tian Chuang when they played tai di. I even ordered a bottle of beer la, think I going to be a 酒鬼sooner or later la. Journey back was a wet one as it was raining and we had to get cabs without umbrellas. But the place we played cards games and dinner was nice as all the servers were very good. Think our table had a lot of orders and questions and they were very patient, one of the servers even offered to shelter us to get cabs but I rejected coz like very 麻烦, so I ended up wet but not that wet.
08/10 (Mon)
Finally start work after 1 week of break, but our trainer is on MC for quite sometime so 舒主管took over us for a day. He looks very strict but he is actually a very nice person and always insists on what he says. For example we were talking about Singapore’s law, like people who commit suicide and fail will be jailed. Then he started saying lots of things to say that the person may accidentally fall off all that la.
Wanted to be alone after work, so I didn’t ate with the others at the canteen and went out alone in the typhoon and only told them I was going to the supermarket which I really did. Took bus down to 欧尚, bought 2 cartons of milk, chocolate, sweets biscuits and cake for Tian Chuang. The bus took so long to come la, but the weather was shiok, it was rather cold when I was out, but coming back waqs ok. 网吧again and had supper at 11plus close to 12, wanted to eat 烧烤but it wasn’t open so we had 麻辣烫, it went for the no chili as usual.
09/10 (Tues)
舒主管 is off, so 叶经理took over for the morning and 杨主管took over the afternoon. As usual, I dozed off during the 2 sessions but both of them were also very nice la. 杨主管is a smart looking person, hahahaha. Tian Chuang says after observing for a whole day, she thinks that he is not bad looking for a China guy, I think he’s not bad wor. Haha.
10/10 (Wed)
Ride Wesley’s bicycle after work because he sent it for repair whereby it seems like I haven ride a bicycle for so long. Headed to网吧 for 4 hours to download shows and out for supper at the 烧烤shop. And we banned ourselves for eating 烧烤for the next day man!
11/10 (Thurs)
There wasn’t any training today man, instead we slept, watch tv and played bridge in the room la. all I can say tt it is super slack la, but we did do some vacuuming la. we even ended work earlier and went out together with the 经理to eat 鸡蛋饼, which was damn nice.
12/10 (Fri)
Last day of housekeeping was rather tiring because we finally get to do some work. I vaccum almost the whole of level 2 and part of level 3.
Had 烧烤 agan with another bunkmate from the guys bunk, we rode 电车 there whereby i took the one Felix ride. Ate a lot la, drank 1.5 bottles of beer, damn sleepy.
We tio kan 3 times today sia. First is the security guard manager tt misunderstood us by saying tt we didn’t greet guest, then is the financial mangager tt lose his temper and another was by another security guard. I think the china people dun like us Singaporeans, always complain about us, waaaa, can’t stand it man!
13/10 (Sat)
Off day, it is also the day the 重庆 interns leave whereby we finally change our beds.
Headed to 欧尚for shopping whereby we bought pillows, food and stool. Why stool? Because the china people always complain tt we sit on the floor outsie the bunk, so we bought a stool to sit!
*Our favorite game now is to play bridge outside the dorm.
During our free time we like to sleep until dinner time.
And I am going to be an official 酒鬼sooner or later.
